🎶"It's the most wonderful time of the year."🎶 In many ways, that is true. We remember the birth of Jesus, our beloved Savior, and the incredible sacrifice He made on our behalf. We enjoy being with family and friends, not to mention all the good food we consume.
Picture what life is like, however, for those who have loved ones in addiction, who never know from one minute to the next if they will receive that dreaded phone call or knock on the door to let them know that their loved one overdosed. Picture frantically trying to control the situation so that won't happen, only to realize that there is nothing that they can do to keep their loved one safe from their own choices.
Love Them To Life ministry exists to help families with support, hope, and education as they navigate the difficult waters of watching someone destroy their own life. The ministry has a Zoom support group meeting on Monday nights for women from all over the country who have someone they love in addiction. LTTL also provides a once-a-month in-person meeting at America's Keswick for those women who are local. Seminars or webinars on the topic of addiction can be scheduled for churches or groups who are interested in understanding this very difficult problem.
The approach of Love Them To Life is that as much as we want our loved one to get well, we need to get well ourselves so that we don't enable destructive behavior. The ministry places much emphasis on finding our true identity as a child of the Most High God rather than the identity of enabler/fixer.
